Manchester United officially announced the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea.

On Monday, Manchester United officially announced the signing of 28-year-old midfielder Nemanja Matic, in a deal thought to be in the region of £40 million.
Tiemoue Bakayoko's move to Stamford Bridge prompted the reunion between Mourinho and Matic, who follows the footsteps of Mark Hughes, Juan Sebastian Veron and Juan Mata in playing for both clubs.
The Serbian, one of Mourinho's top targets, signs a three-year deal with the Red Devils which could be extended by one year, after completing a medical in Manchester on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho said about the former Chelsea man: 'Nemanja is a Manchester United player and a Jose Mourinho player. He represents everything we want in a footballer; loyalty, consistency, ambition, team player'.
'I would like to thank him for his desire to join us because without that, it would be impossible to have him here. I am sure our players and supporters will love him. A big welcome to our new number 31'.
Matic already worked under the Portuguese manager at Stamford Bridge, and he admitted it was a factor in the transfer: 'I am delighted to have joined Manchester United. To work with Jose Mourinho once again was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down'.
'I have enjoyed my time at Chelsea and would like to thank the club and the fans for their support. I cannot wait to meet my new team-mates and to start training with them'.
'This is a very exciting time for the club and I am looking forward to playing my part in creating more history for this great club'.

Nemanja Matic says he will strive to emulate the success enjoyed by Nemanja Vidic during his career with Manchester United.

Matic desperate to impress Vidic

Nemanja Matic says he will strive to emulate the success enjoyed by Nemanja Vidic during his career with Manchester United.
New Manchester United signing Nemanja Matic is eager to live up to the success enjoyed by compatriot Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford.
Matic completed his move from Chelsea on Monday after a reported fee of £40million was agreed between United and the Premier League champions.
The midfielder played for Serbia alongside former United captain Vidic, who won five Premier League titles and the Champions League in a glittering career eight-year spell at the club.
And Matic is keen to make sure that his namesake has no reason to question his move from south London.
"Vidic was a great player, he was one of the players I looked to be similar to because he had a great career," the 28-year-old told MUTV.
"He was the leader of our national team and it's great to be at the same club, like him. I'll try to do my best to repeat what he did. I know it's going to be hard but I don't want him to tell me one day 'what are you doing there?'."

Matic admits he is proud to have been signed for a second time in his career by Jose Mourinho and is looking forward to the prospect of making his competitive debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid on August 8.
"I feel great. Manchester is one of the biggest clubs in the world and I'm very happy because I'm now part of this great club, this great group," he said.
"My wish was to train with Jose and of course when you have a coach like him and a club like Manchester, you don't need to think a lot. My decision was very easy.
"He's a great coach. When I worked with him before, he always took the best from me and I improved a lot with him.
"When the coach wants you to come to the club, it gives you more motivation, more possibility and I will for sure give my best to show that I deserve to be at this club and part of the group.
"It's very important to come as soon as possible, to have time to adapt to the coach's wishes and new team-mates and I'm happy I'll have some days to train with them before the first big game, against Real Madrid.
"It will be a great game. It's going to be interesting, I think all [of] the world will be watching. They are Champions League winners and it's going to be a hard game but I'm sure we'll be ready.
"I'm sure that this season we can do big things.
Matic has won two Premier League titles in the last three years and he is confident that United have the strength in depth to compete for glory both domestically and in Europe this season.
"I think we can do many things. I'm sure we will try to win the Premier League and the Champions League, you never know what can happen in the Champions League," he added.
"Manchester is one of the best teams, for sure. It's difficult to make a plan before the season starts but we'll try to win every game.
"This competition is something special. They are the best clubs in Europe. We're happy to compare with them."

Big blow for Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho as Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalleti today revealed that the conversation is over and Manchester united target Ivan Perisic wouldn’t be moving to Old Trafford this summer
Big blow for Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho as Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalleti today revealed that the conversation is over and Manchester united target Ivan Perisic wouldn’t be moving to Old Trafford this summer according to reports in the
The 28 year old Ivan Perisic has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester united this summer and he was included in Inter Milan’s pre-season tour squad which shows their unwillingness to sell.
Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho appeared to be fed up with the Ivan Perisic saga when he complained about the heavy prices slammed on players by most clubs.
Speaking before Inter Milan’s pre-season clash with premier league champions Chelsea, Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalleti revealed that there has been significant contact between the Italian club and Ivan Perisic and for this reason, the deal with Manchester united is off and he also stated that as each day passes, it becomes more difficult to replace the player.

Ivan Perisic was quite instrumental for Inter Milan last season where he put in several impressive displays as well as providing several assists and scoring eleven goals.

Bayern Munich loan out one of their star signings
Bayern Munich are certainly oversupplied in midfield, which is why Carlo Ancelotti has decided to loan out one of their star signings this summer.
22-year-old playmaker Serge Gnabry was one of the stars of the U21 European Championships won by Germany as well as putting on a stellar performance as the team claimed the silver medal in the 2014 Rio Olympics.
This summer, Bayern Munich paid 8 million euros as Gnabry was signed from Werder Bremen, following a fantastic campaign for the Bundesliga side. But it turns out he will play for Hoffenheim next season.
However, the player himself as well as his agent showed their willingness to be loaned out in order to have more game-time than he would at the Allianz Arena.
'It was Serge's wish to be loaned out for one year to play more. I think that is a guarantee at Hoffenheim'. Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

'After one year, Serge Gnabry will return to Bayern Munich', he added. Hoffenheim finished fourth in the Bundesliga, which entitles them to the Champions League play-offs.

Luciano Spalletti says there are no talks ongoing over the sale of Ivan Perisic, despite rumours of Manchester United's interest.
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti claims there are no talks with any club for winger Ivan Perisic.
The Croatia international has been heavily linked with Manchester United but there has been no concrete development on any potential deal.
Perisic has been involved in Inter's pre-season tour of China and Singapore despite the speculation over his future, with the 28-year-old producing a fine performance in his side's 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup.
Spalletti says there was interest at the beginning of the transfer window for Perisic but, as there has been no follow-up bid, he considers the matter to be closed.
"Until now, there hasn't been any important contact," he told a news conference. "There was something you already know about at the beginning of the window. There was no follow-up and so, for me, the topic is over.
"It's true what the journalists say: as time goes by, it becomes more and more difficult to replace him with another player. I will strongly oppose the sale of Perisic if an offer comes."
Inter's victory over Bayern came after a narrow 1-0 win over Lyon and Spalletti believes his players are beginning to play close to their true level.
"I said in the beginning that the team had qualities that had to be shown," he said. "That's what we have been working on in the last couple of days.
"It's clear that the team has underperformed in the past few months. It's clear that there is more quality than was shown last year. That's what we have been working towards."
Inter have had a relatively quiet transfer window while city rivals AC Milan have spent close to €190million on a complete overhaul of their playing squad.
Spalletti, however, believes a challenge for the Serie A title could be beyond them as it will take time for the new players to adjust.
"Milan have certainly spent a lot," he said. "I think teams like Juventus, Roma and Napoli have a better chance as they haven't had many changes to their squad.
"[Vincenzo] Montella is a great coach and I'm sure he will do good job. The new players need to adjust and so it is difficult to say that whether they will compete for the Serie A title."

Reports claim that senior officials from AC Milan have met with Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential move.
Reports claim that senior officials from AC Milan have met with Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential move.
English publication 'The Mirror' reports that the Italian giants are seriously interested in bringing the Portuguese to Serie A this summer.
AC have already signed 10 players this summer, spending £161m in the process but a move for Ronaldo would top the lot.
Jorge Mendes is believed to have met with Milan's general manager Marco Fassone and sporting director Massimo Mirabelli in London to discuss the potential move.
It is reported that meeting ended with Milan asking to be kept informed of the player's situation and them telling Mendes that he should contact them should the 32-year-old decided to leave the Bernabeu.
'Sky Italia' reports that AC are planning another big move in the transfer market before the summer window closes and that Ronaldo is indeed on their wishlist.
Real boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that part of his 'BBC' forward line could leave the club this summer as 'until August 31 anything can happpen'.

Neymar, serene amid a frenzy of transfer speculation, scored the first-half goal that gave Barcelona a 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Wednesday in an International Champions Cup friendly.
Neymar, serene amid a frenzy of transfer speculation, scored the first-half goal that gave Barcelona a 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Wednesday in an International Champions Cup friendly.
The Brazilian striker, reportedly pondering a 222-million euro ($256.8 million) move to Paris Saint-Germain, showed why the French club would be willing to pay a world-record price to get him.
He delivered his third goal in two matches in the exhibition tournament as Barcelona handed the English Premiership club their first defeat of the pre-season.
After a bright start Manchester United struggled to contain Barcelona's star duo of Neymar and Lionel Messi.
Neymar broke through in the 31st, stripping the ball from Antonio Valencia in the penalty area, turning and finding the net.
The goal proved enough to give a second straight victory to new Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde.
Valverde made sweeping changes to the team that beat Juventus 2-1. Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, Samuel Umtiti, Nelson Semedo, Sergio Busquets and 19-year-old midfielder Carles Arena were included in the lineup headed by Messi and Neymar.
There were eight changes to the Manchester United team that defeated Real Madrid on penalties on Sunday, with captain Michael Carrick, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard the only players to retain their starting spots.
It was Manchester United who threatened first, when Rashford's cross found Romelu Lukaku in the area, but the Belgian couldn't find the net.
Barcelona inexorably took control, and United goalkeeper David de Gea was given plenty of work by Neymar, Messi and Suarez.
Messi came close in the 12th minute, his low effort sliding wide.
A long-range effort from Lukaku, a fierce blast from Paul Pogba and a curling effort from Rashford all tested Barcelona keeper Jasper Cillessen in the space of minutes.
But from there Barcelona dominated. De Gea denied Neymar from close range in the 28th, but had no answer for the Brazilian three minutes later.
Valencia had got control of a pass from Messi, but Neymar was there to regain the ball, turning in close quarters and firing past de Gea to the delight of the Barcelona fans among the 82,000-strong crowd at FedExField -- home of the NFL's Washington Redskins.
Three minutes before the break de Gea parried Suarez's scissor-kick to keep it 1-0 to Barcelona at halftime.
Both coaches rang the changes at halftime, with Valverde replacing 10 players -- only leaving Cillessen in goal.
Jose Mourinho made five changes in his Manchester United side, and the second half moved at a slower, less fluent pace.
Anthony Martial, Andreas Pereira and Pogba all threatened, but Manchester United were unable to find an equalizer.
- Pre-season Clasico -
The match was the last of Manchester United's US tour -- which included wins over Real Madrid, Manchester City and Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy.
They are due to take on Valerenga in Oslo on Sunday and then Sampdoria in Ireland before facing Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on August 8.
Barcelona, meanwhile will take on Spanish rivals Real Madrid in a pre-season "Clasico" in Miami on Saturday -- apparently still uncertain just how long they will have Neymar to rely on.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was happy post-match, even after a 1-0 defeat against Barcelona.Mourinho was pleased despite watching Manchester United suffer a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona, describing the International Champions Cup loss as "very important".
United's flawless pre-season came to an end on Wednesday, beaten by a first-half strike from Neymar in Landover, Maryland.
Mourinho's men were outclassed for large periods of the match as they were condemned to their first loss in the United States but the Portuguese boss was happy post-match at FedEx Field.
"It's very important to lose a match in pre-season. You don't like to lose but I think it's very important," Mourinho told MUTV.
"I think it would be very bad for us to leave the US without a defeat, playing against teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, it would be very bad to go home with just victories. So the defeat is good.
"But I think in the game we did some very good things and we did bad things. The very good things are to keep and the bad things are to improve.
"I am very happy. No injuries because [Juan] Mata and [Ander] Herrera in this moment, I don't think we are talking about injuries. They will be back to training I think next Saturday, no problem to be back to training, so no injuries, a fantastic atmosphere, a fantastic work ethic, great organisation. So now we just need to land safely in Manchester and this part of the pre-season was perfect."
United made eight changes to the team that beat Real Madrid on penalties last time out, though they were virtually at full strength with David de Gea, Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof in the line-up.
However, the Premier League giants struggled after a promising start, with De Gea's exploits ensuring United only trailed 1-0 at half-time.
"The first half was 1-0 but it could have been 2-2, 3-3 or 4-0. In the second half there were lots of changes but both teams were playing for a result, despite it being a friendly when the result is not the most important thing. We tried to equalise, they kept the ball and possession, and defended well. Even in the second half the match was positive," Mourinho continued.
Mourinho added: "The attitude was good and in the second half we defended much better. I know that one thing is to defend against [Lionel] Messi, [Luis] Suarez and Neymar, another thing is to defend against three good players but not three of the best players in the world. But we were much more confident, we pushed the line-up, [Phil] Jones and [Eric] Bailly they pressed really high, we brought the game to their side. We arrived into dangerous positions and we could have scored."
