As reported by The Guardian, Mourinho is growing restless over Manchester United's approach to the transfer window. The Red Devils have only completed the signing of Swedish defender Victor Lindelof, and no other additions look likely before United begin their pre-season tour on Sunday.
Towards the close-season, Jose Mourinho publicly stated he had informed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward of his top transfer targets: 'Ed Woodward has my analysis, has what I want, what I would like for more than two months. Now it’s for him, now for the owners and the people who work with him [to sort], so I just wait', Jose said after beating Ajax in Stockholm.
Six weeks after winning the Europa League, negotiations for players which looked advanced have been stalled, though the United boss remains hopeful that both Nemanja Matic and Alvaro Morata join the squad before their journey to America at the end of the week.
After finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, Mourinho firmly maintained that a squad renovation was necessary, and he appeared to receive backing from the club, who believe in the manager's capacity to return the Red Devils to the top.
